Supervision of low, slow and small (LLS) aircraft will be strengthened in Guangdong from August 1, 2017, according to Guangdong Provincial Public Security Department.

On the statement released by Guangdong Provincial Public Security Department yesterday (July 3) LLS aircraft is defined as “flight height < 500m, flight speed < 200km/h”, including drone, delta wings, paragliders, hot air balloons, model airplanes and Kongming Lantern, etc..

According to the regulation, the LLS aircraft is prohibited in the areas of government departments, military area, airport, high-speed rail, square, park and other crowded areas.

To use LLS aircraft in above-mentioned areas, people should submit application to and get approval from related department in advance.

People who violate the regulation will be given public security punishment, or even criminal sanctions.
